Ruth Louise Yates, 79, formerly of Morton, passed away at 4:50 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Washington Christian Village. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 W. Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Gary Smith and Hospice Chaplin Dwight Winnett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Bible Church Cemetery in East Peoria at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Ruth was born in Beaver Creek, IL on January 2, 1932, a daughter of Clyde and Mabel (Prince) Poore. She married Donald Yates on April 30, 1951 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Janette Marie Yates. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Roger) McGinnis of Washington; brother, Donald Poore of Springerton and sister, Shirley Kron of Greenback, TN. Ruth loved the Lord and loved doing things for others. She was a member of Oak Grove Bible Church in East Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to Oak Grove Bible Church or TAPS Rescue in Pekin.
